Restricting supplemental materials access

Postby ASMkelly » Wed Feb 24, 2010 8:07 am

In one section of our journal, supplemental information to an article will include student assignments and their answer keys. My board is wondering if there is anyway to "bury" the answer key - make it more difficult to find in google searches or restrict access to this information in any way. Anyone have experience with restricting access in this way?

FYI - The overall access to the journal requires a reader create an account to see full text articles.

Hi Kelly,

If you are accepting those results as supplementary files rather than article files, you simply don't have to publish the supplementary files themselves -- that is, you don't need to upload a supplementary file galley. Otherwise, you can either scrub the files before uploading as galleys, or tweak the access restrictions, in Journal Setup Step 4.

Cheers,
James
