I have a files directory for a working submission portal that needs to be relocated and renamed. What is the best way to complete this task without losing previous submission data access.
Using OJS1.9 and MySQL

tmreyno,
You should first backup your data.
Then, you may either update manually the database (through a PHPMYadmin or MySQL Front to connect, or via the MySQL prompt in the server) or re-execute the specific installation step.
If you decide to run the installation step you will need to insert all the data exactly as it was before. I think the password sal is in that form, and if you change it, no one will be able to access the systema again.
You may skip the other steps.
