We are about to start a large project using PKP. We have installed it on a variety of macines and have been 'playing' with the kit. We just tried it where PHP is runningin safe mode and we find that we get errors in various places. Is there a fix to this?

If you are running PHP with register_globals off, you can turn them on by putting an .htaccess file in the directory where you are running an application that requires it. You should have this in your .htaccess:
php_flag register_globals on
Please note that register_globals is going to be depracated (i.e. turned off by default) in the newer versions of PHP, because it often leads to security bugs.
