This is an extension of Jason Nolan's question about deleting submissions from the submission queue.
Our journal uses a blind review process. Sometimes an author submits a manuscript that contains identifying material within the text. I want to be able to delete it out of submissions and ask the author to resubmit an ID-purged copy of the MS.
However, the only way to put a MS into Submissions > Archive, where it can be deleted, is to make an editorial decision to accept or reject it, first. The option to archive the MS doesn't appear until that step is completed. But I don't want to do that -- I'm not accepting or rejecting the MS in itself, simply requesting a clean copy of it. So, is there any way to delete the MS from the submission queue without going through the editorial decision step to move it into the archive?
Thanks!

I would suggest either uploading the replacement submission file within the existing submission (assuming the author has not already resubmitted), or "Reject" the submission but indicate in the email that the author should resubmit the corrected copy.
[ Future versions of OJS, IIRC, will have a "Send to Archive" feature that can be used irrespective of the submission status. ]
