Notify readers of new content added to current issue?

Postby melanieschlosser » Tue Jul 15, 2014 9:01 am

I am working with a journal that publishes incrementally - they open up an issue for the year, and add articles to it as they are ready to publish. At the end of the year, they close the issue and start working on the next year's. It appears that reader notifications only go out when a new issue is published. In this case, readers will not be notified of most of the content that is published over the course of the year. Is there another way to set up reader notifications that is tied to the publication of new content, not just new issues? Thanks! - Melanie Schlosser, Ohio State University Libraries

Hi Melanie,

There's no built-in notification for new content that isn't tied to issue publication -- but you can use the Editor's "Notify Users" feature.
