PostgreSQL migration

Postby mgaiani » Tue Sep 07, 2004 5:16 am

I noticed that there is a file for an abstraction layer for Postgres in include/db.pgsql.inc.php, are there any plans to distribute OJS with support for Postgres? Or is there a way already to use Postgres instead of MySQL?

We have no plans to support PostgreSQL on OJS 1.x. I don't think there is a lot of MySQL-specific code/SQL, so it may be possible to get it running without too much work, but we have no plans to do so ourselves.

OJS 2.0 will support PostgreSQL (although MySQL is still our primary target platform, so we may not do thorough testing on PostgreSQL if time constraints become an issue).
