Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Is there a place to post instructions for section editors that are only viewable by section editors?

Under the configuration of "Policies", "Peer Review" text is visible by authors, if I understand the directions correctly, and so that isn't what we have in mind, and "Review Guidelines" text is visible by reviewers, and so that isn't what we have in mind, either.

Hi,

Any text you enter in Step 2.2 of the the Setup in the Journal Management pages under Review Guidelines will appear only to reviewers once they have accepted a Review Request. This text will appear at the bottom of the page when the Reviewers log in to conduct the review. You can also create custom review forms in the Journal Management pages to guide reviewers through the process. There is a tutorial for creating custom review forms at http://pkp.sfu.ca/ojs/docs/userguide/2. ... Forms.html.

All best,

Thank you, but is there therefore no text that can be available _only_ to Section Editors? Your response talks about text available to _reviewers_.

Hi,

I apologize for missing that part of your question. There is no place to submit text for Section Editors only. That is not currently a component of the software. You could create a static page and include the link to that page in an e-mail message to Section Editors.

All best,
