Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Keywords for new submission

Postby dcolmena » Sat May 31, 2014 8:44 pm

Hello all,

When authors are creating a new submission, there are fields such as:
- title: For the title of the submission
- abstract: For the abstract of the submission

There is no field for the keywords. Uuuuummmm!!!!
Is there a way to have the authors to enter the keywords when submitting a
new submission????

Also, how can I view the keywords when visualizing the abstract by clicking the title of
the paper from the table of content????

Thank you for helping.

David.

Hello all,

I found the solution. I am posting it here since it will be useful for you.

First, you must be the journal manager:
User Home -> Journal Manager

Then select:
Setup -> Submissions -> 3.4 For Authors to Index Their Work

Here, just make one single check in "Keywords (Provide examples of keywords or topics as a guide for authors)".
You do not need to feel the associated "Text Field". When an author will submit a new submission, he will have
to feel this text field with keywords separated by semi-colons from scratch in the corresponding form.

Then, go to the bottom of the page and click the "Save and Continue" button.

That is all folks!!!
