Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Changing Copyright to CC BY

Postby ktz » Sun Mar 30, 2014 8:32 pm

Hi,

We have just upgraded our remaining 9 of 15 journals to CC BY (i.e., now all 15 are CC BY). The problem is that all our articles for all our journals now have the same copyright metadata - even through the archives when the archived work was processed with more restrictive earlier copyright. That is, when you change the copyright notice text in setup 3.2, OJS changes all earlier copyright metadata retrospectively to the new text. Is there a way we can change the copyright selectively so that all future issues are CC BY and all past articles have their original 'tighter' copyright in their metadata?

And secondly, can we make the CC BY icon appear at the bottom of each page for only CC BY articles not for all articles in the archives (for the same reason as above)?

Many thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

Have a look at this Bugzilla entry -- the ability to affix license information to individual articles has been implemented there, and will be released in OJS 2.4.4. If you're handy with patch files, you can try applying it to your 2.4.3 installation (no schema changes required). We'd appreciate the feedback.
