This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OJS from an everyday user's perspective: journal managers, authors, and editors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OJS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OJS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OJS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OJS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OJS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OJS Development subforum.

Does 'over a given period of time' = 'history of journal"

For the articles view report generator (2.4.2), the description paragraph above the report set says these are stats reported over a given period of time. Since the article view report only reports publication date, can we assume that "given period of time=history of journal", and this cannot be further reduced?

Thanks in advance for answer - (and yes we are looking forward to implementing 2.4.3 w/new stats options!)

Hi Leah,

You're correct -- the report is generated for the full history of the journal. Is there a particular requirement you're running into -- is it taking too long to generate the full report? Do you have a requirement for periodic (e.g. quarterly) reports? Or is it just too much data to deal with conveniently in the spreadsheet?

Thanks Alec. No, we have no functional problem with this at all - it's just that this information was being supplied to a granting agency and so we just needed clarity on the timeframe for reporting purposes. Best regards, Leah
