Dealing with a 'withdrawn' paper

Dealing with a 'withdrawn' paper

Have you thought of adding a section, or a choice in the Editor Decision section at the bottom of the Review page, to deal with the situation we are now facing. After two rounds of review, when the Editor had again asked for revisions, the authors have decided (in an external email to the Editor) to withdraw their paper, and submit it elsewhere.

I have added an email to hte authors, confirming this situation to the Editor/Author correspondence, but having a choice in the dropdown menu of 'Withdrawn by Author (s)', which then puts the paper straight into Archives would be so much neater I feel?

Hi Janer,

Did you work through the usual "Reject And Archive" process on the Submission page? That's pretty close to what you describe -- it's just lacking a specific "Withdrawn" label.
