Hi,
I'm giving OCS a test spin on my own server while reading the OCSinanHour manual. Unfortunately, the section about the Scheduler ends with "After you have created buildings and room" on page 51, so please allow me a (probably dumb) question:
I do understand the ordinary process, like abstract->review->scheduled presentation. However, I do have invited speakers who give plenary presentations. Those people have big names, and they will normally neither register, nor will they hand in an abstract. Hence my question: how can I create a presentation at a specific time in a specific room without going through the process of handing in an abstract?
And, as we are at it: is it possible to have different sections combined with plenary presentations. This would look something like:
08-10: Section 1 | Section 2 | Section 3
10-12: --------------- Plenary Session ---------
02-04: Section 1 | Section 2 | Section 3

Hi Simone,
There are two options: 1) you could create the plenary session yourself on behalf of that speaker (there is no requirement that user accounts, i.e. an Editor who submits a presentation, be the same as the author, i.e. the person who is listed on the schedule as giving the presentation), or 2) you could create a Special Event for the plenary, which is also a possibility within the scheduling system.
