Separating Oral and Poster submission types

Are you a Director, Presenter, Reviewer or Conference Manager in need of help? Want to talk to us about workflow issues? This is your forum.

Forum rules
This forum is meant for general questions about the usability of OCS from an everyday user's perspective: conference managers, presenters, and directors are welcome to post questions here, as are librarians and other support staff. We welcome general questions about the role of OCS and how the workflow works, as well as specific function- or user-related questions.

What to do if you have general, workflow or usability questions about OCS:

1. Read the documentation. We've written documentation to cover from OCS basics to system administration and code development, and we encourage you to read it.

2. take a look at the tutorials. We will continue to add tutorials covering OCS basics as time goes on.

3. Post a question. Questions are always welcome here, but if it's a technical question you should probably post to the OCS Technical Support subforum; if you have a development question, try the OCS Development subforum.

Hi Alec,

since I do not yet have an account on github.com, I prefer to go the second way at the moment.

I have posted the feature request as bugtracker issue https://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8587 and I attached the patch there.

Apply it as usual for Git patches:
Code: Select all
[root@server ~]# cd [PATH_TO_WEB_ROOT_DIRECTORY]/ocs
[root@server ocs]# wget https://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3989 -O ocs-stable-2_3-8587.patch
[root@server ocs]# patch < ocs-stable-2_3-8587.patch

Glad I could help!

Of course, the patch line above should have been:
Code: Select all
[root@server ocs]# patch -p1 < ocs-stable-2_3-8587.patch

Now where this feature has been committed to ocs-stable-2_3, it seems logical to me that the same feature would also be available to the Track Director (in addition to the Director): The track director's submission tables at trackDirector/index/submissionsInReview, trackDirector/index/submissionsAccepted and trackDirector/index/submissionsArchives should be extended by the "Session Type" column.

Alec, if you agree, I will be happy to also submit a patch for that.

Thanks.

Great, Alec, thanks. Now that you have also committed that one, I think the new lists shown to the track director and director are sufficient.
