Changing the status of article when scheduled in an issue

here is a problem that our editor is facing. whenever an article is scheduled for publication in an issue its status remains in editing and author does not know that his article has been scheduled in a specific issue.is there any method to change the status so that instead of in editing it will show scheduled for publication in a particular issue. that will be very convenient for editors and authors as well. any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance......
