Slow speed and apparent endless loops

Postby jansimps » Sat Jun 18, 2011 5:32 am

I am a conference manager, not a software engineer. We successfully ran several conferences using OCS a couple of years ago. But we have had an on-going nightmare with the current implementation of the software. First, it runs very slowly - taking 30-50 seconds to load each page. But what is awful is that we seem to have ongoing problems with endless loops on login. I have just done another two tests of the referee process. The email goes out correctly to referees. Clicking in the URL in the email gets one to the login page. Logging in then gets one into an endless loop
Anu.edu.au https://langfest.anu.edu.au/index.php/a ... gin/signIn, or, if lucky, a long wait to get to the login page.

Since we have 343 abstracts to be reviewed, we are going to have a lot of angry people if we cannot speed this up, and get out of these login problems.

Hi jansimps,

This is a problem that has been reported before, but unfortunately there isn't a good fix within OCS itself yet. See http://pkp.sfu.ca/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4146 for more details and a workaround fix.
