Project Launch

With a meeting in Accra, Ghana, sponsored by INASP, PKP has launched its Strengthening Scholarly Publishing in Africa project, led by Samuel Smith Esseh.

The Accra meeting was attended by, among others, Helena Asamoah-Hassan, Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana, Pippa Smart, International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications, Megan Watson, African Virtual Open Initiatives and Resources, Christo Crampton and Sarah Hanton, African Journals Online/NISC, Isaac Appiah and Albert Puplampu, Publishing Studies Program, Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mumuni Dakubu and Patrick Y. Kuti, University of Ghana, Samuel Smith Esseh, the University of British Columbia and the Public Knowledge Project, Alec Smecher, the Public Knowledge Project, and John Willinsky, the Public Knowledge Project/the University of British Columbia.
