The Public Knowledge Project is very pleased to announce our partnership with the Athabasca University Press to develop the new Open Monograph Press electronic publishing platform. OMP will provide an online workspace for publishing monographs, edited volumes and scholarly editions. Proposed features include an incubation site where authors can blog ideas; online composition tools to create text and related resources; and an interactive publication site that will support reader comment and other input.

The AUP brings its extensive scholarly publishing experience to OMP, as well as contributing significant software developer resources to work in close conjunction with the PKP development team.

The Public Knowledge Project is actively seeking additional partnerships and invites you to get involved on the ground floor of this innovative new model of distributed software development. Contributions can be made through software developer time, input for the functional requirements of OMP, project funding/grant proposals, testing, or any other ways you feel you or your institution could participate.

We have setup a new OMP section on the PKP Support Forum, where you can let us know how you would like to get involved.
