PKP Bugzilla – Bug 6656
Breadcrumb on home page is redundant
Last modified: 2012-09-21 15:20:06 PDT
We are moving to Git Issues for bug tracking in future releases. During transition, content will be in both tools. If you'd like to file a new bug, please create an issue.
If you are on a site or journal home page, the breadcrumb is somewhat redundant: you'll actually have three links to the site or journal home page depending on context:
- "Home" in the topmost navigation bar;
- "Home" in the breadcrumb;
- "[Journal Title]" as the next item in the breadcrumb.
More commentary and a proposed solution here: http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7436&p=29214#p29214. I think Macgruder's proposal makes sense, but I'm interested in discussing how it might be fit in with work done on Bug 2280.
Not sure if this is worth fixing, since we've decided for OMP-grade code that breadcrumbs are out.
This is similar to bug 5792 (JM option to hide homepage breadcrumb) which I posted code for but never made it in. Not sure what you mean by 'breadcrumbs are out' but if we want to keep them in OJS this bug can probably be closed and my code committed.
