The Conference Schedule groups presentations by start date only, so presentations that are scheduled for 8:00-9:00 will be grouped in the Schedule along with presentations that are scheduled for 8:00-8:30. It appears that the Schedule will give as the group title the least time -- that is, all presentations slated to start at 8:00 will appear under "8:00 AM - 8:30 AM" if there that is the shortest scheduled presentation. 

The solution would be to take end presentation times into account, and group accordingly.
