Feature Request - Editorial/Review Board Activities
Last modified: 2012-09-21 17:25:15 PDT
Hello all, Again, including our Brazilian feature requests. I have discussed this via e-mail, and this is not feasible yet, but just to record it here, for reference. - Implement a Plugin, or Editorial Step for the Editorial/Review Board. Some journals do use the editorial board to vote on the accepted articles to decide which ones go to "print". Of course, the online system does not limit the amount of articles published, but if used for print, this is important because of costs. These "special" reviewers would have a specific role, and they would have access to the list of approved articles. Then, they would "order" the articles, after reviewing them just as reviewers do (so they would have also a review page, where they could make comments, submit a version, etc..). The system would then generate automatically the ordering of articles based on the ordering of each reviewer for each article. However, to make the voting fair, the numbers should get a weight. For example: There are 30 articles sent to 10 Editorial Board Members. They Editor must publish only 16. The question is how to calculate fairly the article order...
Deferring for later consideration.
