Description Ivailo Stoyanov 2007-10-31 03:02:28 PDT
Herewith I'd like to propose a re-arrangement of the Reading Tools in following way:

1) on Abstract view

  * current:
    - Review policy
    - About the author
    - How to cite item
    - Indexing metadata
    - Print version
    - Notify colleague
    - Email the author

  * proposed:
    - About the author
    - How to cite item
    - Indexing metadata
    - Print version
    - Notify colleague
    - Email the author
    - Review policy

    Summary: move "Review policy" to bottom of list (see also bug #3120)

2) on (any) galley view

  * current:
    - Abstract
    - Review policy
    - About the author
    - How to cite item
    - Indexing metadata
    - Print version
    - Notify colleague
    - Email the author

  * proposed:
    - Abstract
    - About the author
    - How to cite item
    - Indexing metadata
    - Print version (context-sensitive)
    - Notify colleague
    - Email the author
    - Review policy

    Summary: move "Review policy" to bottom of list and "Print version" to get some context-sensitivity by appearing only besides the display of non-PDF galleys as PDF *is already* a print-version. If PDF shows up in browser window along "Reading Tools", "Print version" hides the RT bar, but when the PDF galley doesn't display directly in browser this link isn't useful anyway.

John, do you have any preference on this? I'm ambivalent; the greater RT overhaul we've been talking about may supercede.

 With annotation, there will need to be a complete revamping, although the points made here are still worth tracking through the coming changes.
