We might also consider merging the users import/export DTDs for OJS, OCS, and OMP into a single schema - or at least allow cross-import - to allow data exchange between applications, where possible. Just came up on the forums today, actually: http://pkp.sfu.ca/support/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4210&p=16337#p16337. I haven't ever tried exporting articles or issues from and importing to another, but it strikes me that we should probably ensure that this is doable. This brings up another, larger notion (maybe better suited to email or another bug report): abstracting common plugins out of each platform so we don't have to worry about duplicated code. In order for a journal to make use of subscription information coming into a system with an imported user, the subscription type data would also have to be (ex|im)ported. |
