PKP participated in a very successful conference, Implementing the Durham Statement: Best Practices for Open Access Law Journals, on Friday, Oct. 22nd (during Open Access Week). The conference covered a lot of ground: major topics included moving law journals away from print; authentication and versioning of online data; and preservation.

The latest release of OJS, version 2.3.3-2, has now been declared stable. Sites operating production journals may now safely upgrade and take advantage of the many new features this release introduces.

The PKP Team is happy to announce that the University of Murcia is now providing a course, in Spanish, on using Open Journal Systems in a scholarly publishing environment. Titled Electronic Publishing of Scholar Journals with Open Journal Systems (OJS), the course will explore the current issues surrounding the electronic publishing of scholar journals, and will fully explore the web application OJS.

The PKP Development Team is pleased to announce the release of OJS 2.3.3.

OJS 2.3.3 builds upon the successful 2.3.2 release with a large number of minor bug fixes and code tune-ups, and adds a number of translations that were not previously complete.

OJS 2.3.3 also introduces several major new features:

  • Article view enhancements
  • Reading Tools redesign
  • Citation Markup Assistant
  • Book review solicitation and workflow plugin
  • SWORD Deposit Support
  • New user management functionality, including batch merge
